This year, KIS and DOPPS planned brush harvesting of donor meadows at Planinsko polje, in order to obtain seed mixtures for grassland restoration in the central part of polje. Due to the presence of Corncrake Crex crex and the implementation of a student research camp, work could not be done before 5 August. However, we estimated that by then, the majority of our target species (eg. purple moor-grass Molinia caerulea, wild gladiolus Gladiolus illyricus, sedges Carex sp.) will have lost their seeds. Therefore, eleven people rolled up their sleeves on 23 July and collected 7 kg of seed material. First it will be dried and then manually sown on recipient plots in autumn.
